Day 15 finally finds big brother Beckley in the whelping box with mom and the pups. We couldn't believe it when we walked by the box and here was Beckley and mom both cleaning the pups. Mom has always tolerated him but we didn't think she would ever let him in the box to help. One of the girls found her growling muscle too today. She was so cute when mom was cleaning her and she would let out this little tiny ferocious growl. They are becoming more alert daily holding their heads up and attempting to play. Won't be long now and they will be running around chasing each other. Kids came again today so the pups have gotten their hugs, lucky dogs.

The main puppy handlers came again today to give a little extra love to the pups, Big brother Beckley is still in the whelping box as much as he can be helping out. The pups all run over to him and want to cuddle on him but they get annoyed with him cause he loves to lick them. Everything is still developing along all their functions are improving walking a little but still wobbly, holding their necks up stronger, eyes are still not completely open all the way but you can see them looking at things, They all are more vocal when they want mom or anything, starting to suck on each others noses and ears almost looks like they want to play.

Just a status quo kind of day pups are just developing they way they should be at this point. Beckley we guess has become the official nurse dog and spends as much time with the pups as he can. We had some friends stop by to see the pups and since it was nice out the big dogs went out in their kennel for some fresh air and play time. When the people left Beckley as well as mom had to make sure the pups were ok and seemed to be making sure no one left yet.

Another spring like day here, tree frogs where even out today. The big dogs got some more outdoor time while the little guys were busy trying to play with little play growls and barks. They still don't have this walking thing down yet but are able to propel themselves around never the less. Moms pillow is the favorite place to try and climb up to or under. All of them have started to suck on human dads beard with their wonderful puppy breath I guess looking for left overs from dinner, won't be long now until they start eating real food. We will try and give them a little water tomorrow on their own, we have noticed them panting once in a while when they're out. Mom is funny she gets jealous when they are being held and will go by and give the pups the call that she uses to gather them so the pups start making a fuss and we have to put them back in the box to nurse or let her nurse them on the couch, what a rascal she is.

Well the pups are starting to go to the bathroom on the newspaper when I put them there and tells them to go potty. They aren't just making little spots they are unloading to the point where the paper needs to be changed at least once a day. Today I also took some liquid from the can of lamb dog food and the pups eagerly licked it of my finger and then started biting each other as they had it all over themselves. They are all starting to play with each other now testing out the legs more and more. All of them are attempting to howl and it sounds neat if they stay in tune and all sing at the same time. We catch them looking out of the box now and again to see what's going on out in the world and who's going by or who is out in the living room. Will try some cereal and goats milk later this week. Somedays it seems like the pictures are the same but when compared you can sure see these guy are getting big.

Day 20 finds the puppies becoming increasing more active. They are all getting practice to go to the bathroom on their own over the newspaper but mom still likes to assist them, so does Beckely. We see Beckley now going in making himself at home on moms pregnancy pillow since the pups are using the back as their bathroom. The Puppy handler girls got all four to go at the same time. They are all so chunky they have a hard time moving around sometimes, they do enjoy the milk truck (Mom). Their play is also increasing with their cute little growls and trying to posture.

The puppy handlers will be here everyday this week to give the pups their hugs and kisses. We have noticed that they aren't as happy getting peed on this year as last through.

Finally the pups are sleeping longer at night which gives me a little more time in between naps but I am up longer making sure they go on the paper not on the bedding. Just think last year there were 4 more pups. The pups also enjoy the sing alongs, this batch loves to howl when they get sung to.

I know we say this every time a week passes but can you believe it, these guys are 3 weeks old today and have they grown in three weeks. Their Teeth are starting to come in and are just about ready to eat now, like these guys really need more to eat, as plump as they are. They are just starting to play with the toys in the whelping box, which they bite, growl at and carry around. It is always nice when they start getting to the point when they know who you are when you go to take them out of the box. They wag their little tails and try and come over but don't quite have the tail wag and walking together part down yet.We continue to try and get them to go on the paper, the paper is a bit slippery for them but they manage to do their business and get back on the nice soft blanket and then it's a race for mom or her pillow. We have had all the kids here again today and mom really loves all the attention she gets as well as the puppies.
Puppies are tired tonight, maybe an hour more sleep (Maybe) .........
